
From Wales to Australia, more than a million school children from over 125 countries across the world put down their pencils yesterday to attend Fridays for Future (known as Youth Strike 4 Climate in the UK), the largest global climate strike ever organised.

Behind the movement is 16-year-old Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, whose determination and commitment to fighting the climate crisis earned her a nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize this week.
In our neighbouring towns of Aberystwyth and Machynlleth alone, over 500 students of all ages took to the streets to protest, carrying handmade placards and chanting passionately to the beat of music and drums.
