On Sunday January 28th 2018, the Tywyn Beach Guardians will be holding their first ever beach clean-up on Tywyn beach.
The group was created last month by local residents Jane Gager and Hilary Rowlands and has since grown to include over enthusiastic 800 members on Facebook.
“Our aim is to reduce the amount of plastic washing up on our beaches, and to find ways in which we can be cleaner and greener,” says Hilary, who regularly does beach cleans herself. “We are not here to dictate, but to raise awareness, which hopefully will be passed on to future generations.”
The group will meet at the promenade at the end of Neptune Road at 10 a.m. People are encouraged to bring their own gloves, a warm drink and cake. Bin bags will be provided by town councillor Mike Stevens.
If you would like to take part, head over to the event page on Facebook to say you’re coming or simply show up on the day. Your help would be greatly appreciated!
